How to play Basketball

Goal

Score as many points as you can in 60 seconds. Swishes, long shots and streaks are worth extra, and the hoop starts moving once you score enough.

  1. 1Press Start. A ball appears at a new spot on the court after each shot.
  2. 2Drag back from anywhere on the court and let go. The ball flies the opposite way, like a slingshot.
  3. 3A basket is worth 2 points, or 3 from beyond the line. A swish that touches nothing adds 1.
  4. 4Make shots in a row to build a streak multiplier up to x4. A miss resets it.
  5. 5After you pass the score target, the hoop starts moving up and down.

On a computer

Drag with the mouse and release, or use the arrow keys to aim and set power and press Space to shoot.

On a phone

Drag back with your finger and lift to shoot.

Basketball tips and strategy

  • Use the same pull length for most shots and adjust only the angle. Consistent power makes the timing easier to learn.
  • Aim for the back half of the rim. Shots that hit the front rim usually bounce out.
  • A high arc drops more cleanly through the hoop and gives more swishes.
  • Shoot as soon as the next ball appears. Speed matters in a 60 second round.
  • Once the hoop moves, release when it is near the middle of its path, so small timing errors matter less.
  • Take the 3 point shots when you have a streak going. The multiplier applies to the extra point too.

About Basketball

Basketball is a quick arcade shootout. You have 60 seconds to sink as many shots as you can from spots around the court. Drag back from anywhere on the screen and let go, and the ball flies the opposite way with a power that depends on how far you pulled. The ball bounces off the rim and backboard with real physics, so a soft shot can still roll in.

A basket is worth 2 points, or 3 from beyond the line. A clean swish that touches nothing adds a bonus point, and making shots in a row builds a streak multiplier up to four times. Once you pass a score target, the hoop starts sliding up and down, and later it moves side to side as well, so the best scores need real timing.

Easy mode shows the full arc of every shot and keeps the hoop still for longer. Medium shows the arc for your first few shots, then only an aim arrow. Hard shows no arc at all and moves the hoop sooner and faster. The daily shootout uses the same shooting spots for every player that day.

Basketball FAQ

How do you shoot in this basketball game?

Drag back from anywhere on the court and let go. The ball flies in the opposite direction, and a longer pull means a stronger shot.

What is a swish?

A swish is a basket that goes in without touching the rim or backboard. It adds 1 bonus point.

When does the hoop start moving?

After you pass a score target: 24 points on Easy, 16 on Medium and 10 on Hard. At double the target it moves sideways too.

Can I play with a keyboard?

Yes. The arrow keys change the angle and power, and Space shoots.

Is the arc preview always shown?

On Easy it is. On Medium it shows for your first 3 shots, and on Hard there is only a short aim arrow.
