Play Anagrams free online. Make as many words as you can from 6 or 7 letters before time runs out, fill the word board and find the full-length word.
Anagrams tips and strategy
- Hunt for the full-length word first. The extra ten seconds pays for itself.
- Common endings like ER, ED, ING and S unlock lots of words. Look for them in your letters.
- Shuffle often. A new order breaks the pattern your eyes keep seeing.
- Keep the combo going by typing short words quickly between longer searches.
- Turn one word into another by changing a single letter: TAME, TALE, TAPE.
- On a phone, tap tiles in order. On a keyboard, typing is usually faster.
About Anagrams
Anagrams gives you six or seven letters and a ticking clock. Make as many words as you can from those letters before time runs out. Every word must have at least three letters, and each letter tile can be used once per word. The board above the letters shows a blank slot for every common word hiding in the set, grouped by length, so you always know how many are left to find.
Scoring rewards length and speed. A three letter word is worth 30 points and a seven letter word is worth 220. Finding a word that uses every letter earns a 100 point bonus and adds ten seconds to the timer. Find words quickly, one after another, and a combo builds that adds up to half again to each word. Real words that are not on the board still count as bonus words.
Pick Easy for six letters and two minutes, Medium for seven letters and ninety seconds, or Hard for seven letters and one minute. When the round ends, every missed word is revealed in red so you can learn the ones that slipped past. A daily round gives everyone the same letters.
Anagrams FAQ
How many letters does a word need?
At least three. Longer words score more points, and the full-length word scores a bonus.
Why was my word not accepted?
It may not be in our word list, or it may need a letter more times than it appears in your set. Names and abbreviations are not allowed.
What is a bonus word?
A real word from our larger dictionary that is not one of the common words on the board. It still scores full points.
How does the combo work?
If you find a word within six seconds of the last one, your combo grows and each word earns 10 percent more, up to 50 percent.
Is there a daily Anagrams puzzle?
Yes. Everyone gets the same seven letters and 90 seconds each day, and you can share your score as an emoji summary.
