How to play Road Hopper

Goal

Hop forward as many rows as you can without getting hit, falling in the river or stalling too long.

  1. 1Tap or press Up to hop forward one row. Swipe or use arrows to hop sideways or back.
  2. 2Cross roads between the cars and trucks.
  3. 3Ride logs and lily pads across rivers. Water and the screen edge are deadly.
  4. 4When a railway light flashes, a train is coming. Wait for it to pass.
  5. 5Keep making progress. Stand still too long and a hawk swoops down.

Road Hopper tips and strategy

  • Watch one lane ahead, not the lane you are standing in. Plan your next hop while you wait.
  • Trucks are slow but long. Small cars are quick. Judge the gap, not the vehicle.
  • On a log, hop forward early. Logs drift toward the edge and the edge is deadly.
  • Lily pads stay still, so they are a safe place to pause in the middle of a river.
  • When the railway light starts flashing, stop. Trains are faster than anything else.
  • Keep an eye on the hawk meter. A single forward hop resets it.

About Road Hopper

Road Hopper is an endless hopping game where a small green frog tries to get as far from home as possible. Every row is a new challenge: grassy fields with trees and rocks, busy roads full of cars and trucks, rivers you can only cross on floating logs and lily pads, and railway lines where fast trains roar past.

The world is built as you go, so no two runs look the same. Roads get busier and rivers get trickier the further you hop. There is one more rule that keeps you honest. If you hang around too long without making progress, a hawk circles overhead and swoops down. A meter at the top of the screen warns you when it is getting hungry.

Your score is the furthest row you reach. Road Hopper works with a single tap on phones, swipes for sideways moves, and arrow keys on a computer. Pick Easy, Medium or Hard, or try the daily run where every player hops across the same course.

Your score is the furthest row you reached in the run, shown at the top of the game.

Can I play the daily course more than once?

Yes. The daily course is the same for everyone that day. Retry as often as you like and your best distance is kept.
