Box Pusher tips and strategy
- Before you push, ask where the crate needs to end up and from which side you will need to push it.
- Never push a crate into a corner unless that corner is a target. It can never come out.
- A crate against a wall can only move along that wall, so check that the wall leads to a target.
- Two crates side by side against a wall are usually stuck too.
- Deal with crates that block the room's narrow passages first.
- Tap a square to walk there automatically. It saves time and never pushes a crate by accident.
- Count your moves on a second try. The best scores often come from a smarter order of pushes.
About Box Pusher
Box Pusher is a warehouse puzzle in the style of Sokoban. You control a small worker in a room full of crates and target squares. Walk into a crate to push it, and get every crate onto a target. It sounds easy, but you can only push, never pull, and only one crate at a time, so a single careless push can wedge a crate against a wall for good.
Sokoban was created in Japan in the early 1980s and has inspired thousands of puzzles since. All 40 levels here are original and were made for this site. Each one was generated by working backward from the solved room, then checked by a computer solver to prove it can be finished. They are ordered from gentle one crate warmups to tight rooms with four crates and long solutions.
Your best move count for every level is saved, and solving a level unlocks the next. Undo is unlimited, so feel free to experiment.
Box Pusher FAQ
Is Box Pusher the same as Sokoban?
It uses the same classic rules as Sokoban, but the name, art and all 40 levels are our own.
Can every level be solved?
Yes. Every level was checked by a solver that found a full solution before it was added to the game.
What counts as a move?
Every step the worker takes is a move, whether or not it pushes a crate. Pushes are shown separately. Undo takes moves back.
How do I unlock more levels?
Solve a level to unlock the next one. The first level of the Medium and Hard groups is always open.
Can I play on my phone?
