About Word Grid
Word Grid is a timed word search on a four by four board of letter dice. Form words of three or more letters by connecting neighboring tiles, including diagonals, without using the same tile twice in one word. The Qu tile counts as two letters.
Dice based letter grid games have been family favorites since the 1970s. Our free version, an original take on that classic, rolls a standard set of 16 letter dice, gives you three minutes, and then shows every word you missed. Longer words score much more: 3 or 4 letters score 1 point, 5 letters 2, 6 letters 3, 7 letters 5, and 8 or more score 11.
It is a quick, competitive vocabulary game that also trains pattern spotting. Drag across tiles with your mouse or finger, or tap them in order.
Because every board is rolled from real letter dice, some boards are packed with words and others are tough. Comparing scores with friends on the same kind of round is part of the fun, and reviewing the missed words list is the quickest way to improve. - Short words add up. Grab three and four letter words before hunting for long ones.
- Remember diagonals count. Many players miss diagonal paths.
- Use the Qu tile for words like QUIT and QUEEN. It counts as two letters.
