About Simon Says
Simon Says is a memory game with four colored pads. The game lights up the pads in a sequence, each with its own tone. You repeat the sequence by pressing the pads in the same order. Each round adds one more step, and one mistake ends the game.
Light and sound memory games became a hit as electronic toys in the late 1970s, and the name comes from the old children's game Simon Says. Our free version uses four pads, gentle tones and a saved best score.
It is a fun way to practice working memory and focus for kids and adults. Tap the pads on a phone or click them on a computer.
Memory sequence games are popular with families because they are easy to understand and get harder at just the right pace. Try taking turns with friends and see who reaches the highest round. Simon Says tips and strategy
- Say the colors out loud or in your head, like 'green, red, red, blue'.
- Group the sequence into chunks of three or four. Chunks are easier to remember than long lists.
- Listen to the tones. Many players remember the melody better than the colors.
- Keep a steady pace when repeating. Rushing causes most mistakes.
- The playback gets faster as the sequence grows, so focus fully during each replay.
